The routine of multiple kids.

I’m just about to have a panic attack. I am trying to organize my daughters’ schedule for the next term. Yes, I am the kind of mom that takes one term at a time. Since I’m still figuring out what is just enough and simply not over doing it. The choices are just so many. Last year my eldest began school full-time and my youngest started pre-school. During the whole summer prior I believed that I was going to have so much time and it was going to be way more relaxed. One child in school full-time and the other part time. Wow! Was I wrong? Bianca attending school the whole day met that her extra curricular activities and play-dates would be after school – making the day even longer.  The previous year she attended school in the afternoon and in the mornings we were doing all that.  Juliana used to follow Bianca around. But as soon as she began to attend pre-school, she started having her own life: field trips, birthday parties, play-dates, classes, lessons, school performances… I really don’t know how parents do with more than 2 kids. How can you be in 3 or 4 or 5…. places at the same time? I’m still figuring out how to be at 2 places at the same time. Literally, their end of year parties were on the same day at the same time. Don’t get me wrong though, I love being busy with driving them around, getting a big hug at each pick up, watching the performances, going to field trips, helping at the school. Really I love it! But the key for me is to know the right amount of activities for each of them. So, there is no way that they can do everything I would like them to do. Anyhow, if you are a mom of two kids or more and the second one is attending pre-school now and or just getting older. It does get easier in lots of ways, and it does get busier way busier. I wasn’t aware!  If I was more aware I wouldn’t have felt so overwhelmed.  I made you aware of it! 🙂 Let’s get to work and plan the term. The new school year does begin in 3 weeks.

Jewelry to love and inspire!

Yesterday’s post got me thinking even more about jewelry. And if it wasn’t enough for you to want to upgrade your jewelry box hopefully today’s post will make you love and get inspired. It’s just incredible how much jewelry changes the outfit.

I just love these bracelets.

I have so much more to share but for now I think this is enough. Good night everyone!

Going back to jewelery

These last few days I have been thinking that I never wear jewelry and would love to. It’s simply because I have little kids and I felt it got in the way or I could scratch them with it. I then kept to my wedding band, my gold earring and my watch. Now, my girls are getting bigger and I am finding myself looking into my jewelry box. Unfortunately I’m also very disappointed as I don’t have much in it. It’s a sad jewelry box. I received an email from Banana Republic with an offer of 40% off on all full priced items and an extra 50% off on all sales items. It’s valid until 07/30 and online exclusive. Obviously I had to check the jewelry out.

Bangles: I love the look of them with almost anything… It’s just too bad that they fall right out of my arms.

Stretch bracelets: I don’t think they make as great as a statement as bangles, but a girl gotta work with what she has. And sometimes it’s a more delicate look that you need anyways.

Chunky necklace: I think they are great for summer outfits, specially with shorts. It adds a sophistication to the outfit taking the sexy look away.

Long necklace: I love the look with silky shirts.

Rings: They are so fun to play with and can really upgrade your look. I’m always careful to make sure it goes well with the bracelets…

Grown-up lemonade stand

One thing that Canada has definitely thought me is to appreciate the weather. A sunny warm day is just priceless. Don’t you agree? Vancouver is on 31 days and counting of straight sunshine. I’m so thankful! We are really trying to take full advantage of the sunshine and the fun things it has to offer like picnics, BBQs, going to the beach and pool… And I’m constantly looking for ideas to make a little difference in our summer days. Then reading through my magazines (Chatelaine) I found this:

Hope you like it as much as I did. Have a great week!

Celebration of Light

Hi Vancouver!

Don’t forget that this Saturday starts the Celebration of Light in English Bay. I just love the idea that every year a few countries get together to present their version firework show.

It starts after sunset, but get there early to watch performances on two stages. For more information check out the website http://hondacelebrationoflight.com/artists/shorefest-2013

7 Layers dip: yum!

I can’t tell you how much I love dips: salsa, hummus, tabouli… name it, I’m all over it! I also think it’s a great thing to have in my fridge to serve to that surprise guest and/or the play-dates we have at home. It’s a great snack for children and adults.

One of my favourite dip is the 7 layer dip from Thrifty grocery store.

Unfortunately, the nearest Thrifty is in North Vancouver. We have tried 7 layer dip from basically every grocery store in Vancouver and nothing is even close to this one. Just the thought of it makes my mouth water.

I really recommend. You should try it! 🙂
